Insomnia is the inability to fall or stay asleep and to gain restful and productive sleep.
Insomnia can be caused by many factors; environmental, emotional, sociological and physiological.
The most common cause of insomnia is eleveated fear. Fear is produced by endocrine responses; anxiety is the disorder of fear.
When bodily systems and emotions conflict, it is almost impossible to find restful and productive sleep; if your subconscious mind believes it is dealing with threat, it will attempt to prevent the body and mind from sleeping; sleeping whilst under attack, is clearly a bad idea.
